Leydi came to us on 4-6-06, and I co-own her with her breeder Betty Hayward of Huzur Anatolians.
She is 2 1/2 years old and registered with AKC and UKC. Her OFA results are hips excellent, elbows normal and shoulders normal. Leydi is a very sweet girl, gets along well with all the other dogs and enjoys greeting visitors. She is beautiful to watch when she runs around playing with the other dogs or when something on the fence needs to be checked out.
Her red coat is beautiful when the evening sun hits it.
May 2011 Update
Leydi will be 8 years old in October. She continues to have a very mischievous personality, but is great with people and other animals, including other dogs. She has a loud bark and notices that dangerous UPS truck when it's still a mile away and follows its whereabouts until it gets close enough to bark at it. She seems to think the UPS truck is a lot more dangerous than the FedEx truck.
After she had the litter we noticed that she had some pain issues, and x-rays showed that she has some bone spurs on her spine between the thorax and hip area. It's only noticable when she stands or lies down. She still has that beautiful floating trot and runs as fast as the rest of them. She loves playing with her sons and her daughter Cici. She was spayed when she was a little over 5 years old and has been even more interested in food since then. The vet x-rayed her hips at that time as well and so far there is no sign of any degenerative disease. In October of 2010 I ran another full thyroid panel on her and everything was normal. She has held a steady weight of 105 lbs, and I try to keep her lean to avoid any extra burden on her joints. She doesn't show any signs of arthritis at this time and so far she has not had any health issues other than the bone spurs
